ABOUT THE PHLEBOTOMY CENTRE
How many times?!
The Phlebotomy Centre has become it's fantastic self through life changing experiences which highlighted the need to support those who choose Phlebotomy as a career... because what a fantastic job they do!
Why?... After the birth of my daughter in 2016 by emergency caesarean and 3 separate encounters of Septicaemia later, for reasons unknown by any medical professional, I found myself unable to come to terms with why I was so unwell, unable to cope with postnatal depression and rapidly losing hope.
What changed?... Scheduled appointments every couple of weeks became something I looked forward to! The people who cared about me most for that short period of time whilst taking my blood were in fact the local Phlebotomy team who I got to know very well indeed and in fact played a large role in discovering the diagnosis to my problems.
What's next?... after many discussions and interesting learning journeys alongside these fantastic people, there are 4 key areas The Phlebotomy Centre intends to improve within this sector:
Increasing awareness of choosing a career in Phlebotomy.
Support existing Phlebotomists to achieve their career aspirations.
Raising standards of care through awareness campaigns, training and consistency of practice.
Offering Phlebotomists the membership benefits they want to see!
Our mission is to ensure that the Phlebotomy industry receives the recognition it deserves with our fantastic membership packages and a shared philosophy with our partners, we will help our members realise how important they truly are.
We envisage a membership team who is proud to represent The Phlebotomy Centre and are willing to proactively demonstrate best practice at all times. Raising the standards of care nationwide and supporting those who truly deserve to have opportunities made more easily accessible to them.
