Your blood group is determined by the genes you inherit from your parents.

Each group can be either RhD positive or RhD negative, which means in total there are 8 blood groups.

Vitamin B12

+ Folate

When you have large red blood cells, specifically when you have symptoms of anaemia and/or of neuropathy. You can also check your levels with this test if  you are being treated for vitamin B12 or folate deficiency.

Folate (vitamin B9) is essential for making red blood cells — these are important for energy. Low levels can lead to anaemia (causing tiredness) and affect your heart health in the long-term.

COVID-19 Antibody

Wish to know if you’ve already had COVID-19?

A simple blood test will give you a result within 3 days. This test is intended as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response, indicating recent or prior infection.

It is important to note that it is not yet known if the presence of antibodies provides immunity to COVID-19, or for how long any protective immunity may last. If you get a positive result you still need to follow government guidelines around social distancing and self-isolation.

Full Blood Count

The full blood count (FBC) is one of the most commonly requested tests and provides important information about the types and numbers of cells in the blood: red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.

Abnormalities in any of these types of cells can indicate the presence of important medical disorders. There are many illnesses which will affect the full blood count (FBC) and the result of this test may help to make a diagnosis.

Vitamin D

Research shows us that low vitamin D levels are common in the UK and have a high incidence in Covid 19 sufferers.

What are the signs and symptoms of vitamin D deficiency?

1. Fatigue

2. Bone pain

3. Muscle weakness

4. Muscle aches/muscle cramps

5. Mood changes

Vitamin D also plays an important role in musculoskeletal health.

You should stop taking supplements for at least a month before taking this test.
