    1. Recognise the importance of phlebotomy in a variety of settings.
    2. Understand the equipment used during venepuncture. 
    3. Identify risks involved in venepuncture.
    4. Demonstrate an understanding of infection control and health and safety principles in relation to phlebotomy practice.
    5. Differentiate between arteries and veins.
  • Description

    This full day practical course is split into 2 sections: 

    1. Simulated Practical Studies
    2. Simulated Procedure Assessment

    To begin, we will recap on all things theory which you will have studied before attending your session. We will then move onto the application of theory through practicing your technique on equipment simulating a real person.

    We will focus on a range of topics to embed the venepuncture procedure, with a particular focus on patient comfort and best practice.
